Get 'Pin-Spired"

I used to hate to shop. I still don't love it, but I've come to enjoy it more. I've always enjoyed "house" shopping for furniture and the like and LOVED shopping for the kid's clothes when they were younger. But as far as for myself - NOT AT ALL. I think that probably comes from my younger years when I was so tall and lanky compared to other girls my age. Pants were always either too short or too long.  I think I broke the record for how many days in a row I wore my Brady Bunch plaid pants to school, simply because they were the only pants that even remotely fit me right! Ugh - painful memories. lol

I'm sure it has something to do with my 16 year old daughter that I will actually look through the clothing racks at a store. I've mentioned before that she is amazing at putting outfits together. It's as simple to her as breathing. I'm so glad that she didn't take after me in the clothing department!

I've also learned a lot from reading blogs such as Pinterest Told Me To, The Pleated Poppy, Simply Lulu Style, and others, so I must be a very visual person, because when I "see" how something looks together, I become inspired.

Here are a couple of my "tries" at getting "Pin-Spired"!

I like coral and turquoise together. Doesn't that color combination make you feel happy?

My take on turquoise and coral

This is a picture from Pinterest of a much younger lady, but I liked the shirt, scarf, and boots combo.

It's been a lot of fun trying new things. I'm probably much older than most of you linking up, but I guess I am proof that it is never too late to take in interest in shopping!

I'm linking up to the Pin-Spired Party with Pinterest Told Me To, Mix and Match Mama, The Larson Lingo, and also The Pleated Poppy.  I love reading these girls' blogs! It is so much fun.  I would love to see what kinds of things you have put together lately!

  3. Just perfect! I pin lots of outfits that were done by girls younger than me too. I don't think it matters as long as the outfits is appropriate and your figure works with the clothes. You look great!

  4. I adore both of your looks, Kathy! The first is my favorite because I've never thought to pair turquoise and salmon. Even more than that, I love how the turquoise necklace looks near the olive green jacket! And, I have that fringe scarf too in dusty pink...thanks to Sheaffer at Pinterest Told Me To. :)

    1. Hi Jen! Thanks so much for your comment. I have gotten so many ideas from Sheaffer. She is great! I just ordered the scarf in dusty pink, too! Thanks again for writing! I hope it is warmer where you are than it is here in Iowa!

  5. Wayyy late in commenting here, but I just found your post and have to say you look FAB.U.LOUS. I don't think age matters one bit here. When you wear clothes that you love that flatter your figure, which is exactly what you did here, it totally works. You look better than most teenagers I see who just haven't figured out how to dress for their body type. Hope to see you again at the next pin-spired link up. :)
