July Pin-Spired Link Up

I can't believe this is the last day of June! My father-in-law always says that when the calendar reads July 4th, summer is basically over. That always made me laugh, but I know what he's saying. It goes by quickly after that. One of my son's birthdays is August 26th, and I always tell him that Christmas comes pretty much instantly following that day (or it seems like that to me!).

Aren't they BEAUTIFUL???!!! I received these two necklaces last week.

This was a quick pic after trying on the red one  (Stella and Dot- Sardinia necklace). It's not the greatest photo, but isn't it lovely? I find myself standing and staring at it in my closet. I'm not sure what that says about me. My husband says that he is going to have to find a way to hang "all my new love for necklaces" in our closet.

This link up is always a lot of fun. I love seeing what other ladies put together. I read so many mom blogs and I am always floored at their cute style when they have little ones running around. I wish I had been more like that! I am truly inspired by their style and reading about their daily lives. I think all moms are just amazing at what they accomplish everyday for their families.

I often think of that quote from Anne of Green Gables where it is said ,"Tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it."  As a mother, those words have come to me often.  If you feel you failed in some way with your children or family today, you can start fresh tomorrow. God's mercy and grace is new every morning.

Sales and Stuff

Good morning! This post includes a lot of "this and that".

I received an email from Nordstrom Rack with a sale on 7 For all Mankind jeans for ladies. Some of them have been marked down to a pretty good price for that particular brand, just in case you are in the market for a good pair of jeans.   www.nordstromrack.com/event  The sale ends Thursday.

My daughter and I tried an Ipsy (makeup) subscription. We received our first box, but didn't really see anything that we were thrilled with. I found a Birchbox subscription special for $5.00, so decided to give that one a try instead. Have you ever tried either one of those? What were your thoughts?

Isn't this a pretty table setting from Home Goods? I love finding ideas like this and either pinning them or filing them away for a future time.

On another note, my son works at Starbucks and brought home this recently.

We brewed some on the stove, let it steep for 5-10 minutes,  poured it into a pitcher, and then added lemonade with a little sugar for Passion Tea lemonade. It smelled so good and was a nice alternative to just plain lemonade or tea.

I've been looking for some good books to read for the summer. I'd love a story that I can't put down, but that is also a clean read. Any recommendations?

Speaking of reading, I've been reading from Judges in the Old Testament this week regarding Gideon. My Bible  is the Everyday Life Bible from Joyce Meyer's ministry, and so it includes a lot of her notes alongside the passages. I liked what she said in Chapter 7:

"How many times does God put something on our hearts to do , but then we cower when fear comes along, causing us to hesitate and become double-minded? In this circumstance, we may feel fear, but we can do things afraid. Remember God's word to us is, "Fear not, for I am with you." When fear knocks on your door, let faith answer!"

Gideon had to have a lot of signs to believe that God would truly be with him and God was gracious to give him those signs. Remember that God is with you, no matter what your circumstances may be. Even if you are feeling afraid for whatever may be facing you, you can do it afraid. That is for me today!

I especially pray a special blessing over all the young moms who may be reading today. God is with you and notices your work and labor of love. Every unseen thing you do for Him does not go unnoticed by Him. I speak blessing over you and your children today. You are incredibly valuable!
