We recently hosted a get together of students at our home. I was checking out Pottery Barn's website to get some inspiration and came across this.
I already had a similar drink dispenser that I had bought at Sam's Club a few years ago. I looked around at Joanne's Fabrics and found 3 chalkboard mini frames for $1.50. I attached one with some twine and voila! A PB look for a lot less. (On a side note...I love fabric stores even though I can't sew one bit!)
Since we were serving bbq, I used bandanas for napkins and wrapped the silverware inside with twine. I used mason jars that I already had for drinks.
The cute paper straws came from Target.
It's fun to see what you can create with just a little inspiration. Love that Pottery Barn!

ReplyDeleteMe too, Susan. But I did forget to photograph it with lemonade inside. lol
DeleteSuch a cute idea! We often host summer get togethers and I could definitely do this.
ReplyDeleteThanks for writing, Alison. You'll have to scroll back for the PB Mayflower we created for Thanksgiving. It was really cute:)
ReplyDeleteIt's the little things that take a gathering from good to great! You have such a beautiful eye for it!! Inspiring!
ReplyDeleteOh thank you, Meredith. It would have been good to get a shot with the actual lemonade in it. lol I really enjoy doing things like that:) Thanks so much for writing!
DeleteAlso, I did have actual bandanas as napkins also, but forgot to photograph those. You can usually get a pack of those at Walmart for a low price.
ReplyDeleteGreat ideas, Kathy! I love to get inspiration from Pottery Barn, too. You took it to the next level by using the twine in other ways as well. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking this to Grace at Home--I featured you this week!
Thanks so much, Richella!
DeleteThat is so fun! Love PB for the inspiration, but not their prices, so it's great to see some wonderful knock-offs!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for writing, Carol. I agree! I have scored some great deals at PB around the holidays. We did a PB Mayflower knock-off for the kid's Thanksgiving table a few months back if you're interested. Thanks again for writing:)
